Audio drives our society in more ways than one can imagine. It surrounds us all day every day, when you’re driving to your job, watching any sort of video with sound, going to a concert, just to name a few. Audio and music are so intertwined with what it means to be human, that almost no matter where someone goes, they will more than likely be using some form of audio. That is what drives me, to chase the ability to influence and inspire people through one of our most basic functions of day-to-day life. Any form of audio has this ability, and that is why I search for any opportunity to make my desire to influence and inspire through audio be my career. I’m looking for any sort of audio work such as music production, live sound, radio, audio for video, video game sound design, you name it. I’m in the process of making my journey out to beautiful Southern California, where I have been working toward for over a decade now. I will be living somewhere in Orange County, California in June 2022 after I graduate. That is where I hope to be able to find my place in this crazy world of ours, and where I plan on finding employment to utilize my skills in audio.

Accent on the Arts: Matt Watroba Concert

For the first performance in the 2021 Accent on the Arts Concert Series, folk artist Matt Watroba was the performer. This concert was a great event and it truly opened my mind to the fact that good music is good music, regardless of if it is one of your preferred genres or not. I would've liked to see more attendance but marketing efforts were a bit rushed and we didn't have a whole lot of time to prepare, so the next one should have better attendance. I learned how to set up mics and monitors in a theatre/stage setting and how to mix for a theatre/live sound event. Matt Watroba's wife Kim also accompanied him in later songs that they performed together, so we had a nice surprise guest. Sadly, I didn't get a picture of the concert, so I have added an image of them performing at a different venue. After the concert, we mixed down some of the songs that they performed, so I have attached those below the image.
