Audio drives our society in more ways than one can imagine. It surrounds us all day every day, when you’re driving to your job, watching any sort of video with sound, going to a concert, just to name a few. Audio and music are so intertwined with what it means to be human, that almost no matter where someone goes, they will more than likely be using some form of audio. That is what drives me, to chase the ability to influence and inspire people through one of our most basic functions of day-to-day life. Any form of audio has this ability, and that is why I search for any opportunity to make my desire to influence and inspire through audio be my career. I’m looking for any sort of audio work such as music production, live sound, radio, audio for video, video game sound design, you name it. I’m in the process of making my journey out to beautiful Southern California, where I have been working toward for over a decade now. I will be living somewhere in Orange County, California in June 2022 after I graduate. That is where I hope to be able to find my place in this crazy world of ours, and where I plan on finding employment to utilize my skills in audio.

Accent on the Arts: Westbound Situation Concert

For the third performance in the 2021-2022 Accent on the Arts concert series, progressive stringband Westbound Situation were the performers. This was my personal favorite concert, as they were a group of some extremely talented individuals! The setup and tear down for the concert was extremely easy as well, since they only used a stereo pair of mics, and no monitors at all. Since they were using mostly the same instruments and the same mics, there wasn't a whole lot of mixing involved, so I got to enjoy the show! Sadly, I was the only student there to assist the concert, but thankfully it was easy, so all I really had to do was introduce the concert again! However, I am no longer in the class, so I didn't get the chance to mixdown the concert afterwards, but I will add the image I took of the concert below. I will link their website within the image, so you can check out their music!
